A Few Things to Look Forward To 👀

A Few Things to Look Forward To 👀

February was a big month for our team! We’ve been hard at work launching two new features: Public Self-Booking and Two-Way Calendar Sync—both currently in beta testing.

Here’s what they mean for you:

Public Self-Booking – Let students schedule (and pay for) their first lesson directly from your website—no portal access needed!

Two-Way Calendar Sync – We’ll check your external calendar for conflicts, making scheduling smoother than ever.

We’re still looking for beta testers! If you’d like to test these features and share your feedback, email us at support@mymusicstaff.com, and we’ll get you set up. (As these features are in beta, they may change before their final release.)

In the meantime, we are always still busy at work going through customer feedback and making improvements throughout My Music Staff to bring you the best software possible, check out some of our newest updates below:

Teachers & Staff

  • “Notes” has now been added as a default column option for the Teachers & Staff list
  • You can now send custom SMS messages directly to teachers from the Teachers & Staff page (using your mobile device)
  • We made updates to teacher payroll calculations to reduce the possibility of errors

Attendance

  • Taking attendance in bulk will now provide a warning if any selected students aren’t eligible for a selected attendance status (including trying to assign too many make-up credits)
  • We fixed a link in the student’s profile (Attendance and Notes tab) that was redirecting to the wrong page

Families & Invoices

  • We added “Balance Forward” (enabled or disabled) as one of the auto-invoice settings you can see from the family details summary window
  • When searching for a recent transaction, you can now hit “Enter” to search for a value in addition to clicking “Search”
  • We fixed an issue where the notification indicating the number of days between an invoice date and invoice due date was being calculated incorrectly

Calendar

  • When creating  a Quick-Add Lesson in an account with multiple teachers, the student dropdown will now always default to “Open Lesson Slot” and the teacher dropdown will default to the teacher currently logged in
  • Attempting to email or text students or parents about a cancellation will now give you a warning if the intended recipient doesn’t have contact information listed
  • When deleting an event from the calendar, single-teacher accounts will no longer see the option to “Email/SMS Teachers”

General/Other

  • Custom email templates now include a customizable subject line
  • We fixed an error that would occur when creating a new email template with a blank name
  • We updated the make-up credit expiry notification to ensure it always displays the affected student’s name
  • We fixed an issue that was preventing the “Overwrite Existing Template” button in Email Templates from functioning correctly
  • We fixed an issue that was causing a student’s SMS failure notifications to be sent to their former studio after moving to a new studio
  • We improved the look of lesson note templates on larger screens
  • We made some updates to help improve the lesson note taking speed on iPad after member feedback
  • Various cosmetic tweaks throughout
