This morning we rolled out some changes to various aspects of My Music Staff. Here’s a summary of what’s new:
Invoice Filters
We’ve added filters to the “Families & Invoices” page so that you can view invoices from a specific date range. This is helpful if you’d like to only see invoices created recently. There are also filters to hide invoices which have already been emailed and/or no balance due.
Calendar Filters
We’ve added filters to the calendar so you can filter what’s displayed by student, category or both. By selecting the “Students” or “Categories” drop down lists you can filter the calendar so it only displays the scheduled events for a specific student (or category).
Additionally, we’ve simplified the calendar menus and modified the layout so that things fit nicely on an iPad screen.
Require Make-Up Credits
For teachers with larger studios, you can now create open lesson slots that are reserved for students with make-up credits. Check out this article in our FAQ for step by step instructions on how to do it.
Income and Expense Reports in Excel Format
It’s now possible to create income and expense reports in an Excel friendly format (CSV). The previous PDF format is still available, and is great if you need something that’s printer friendly. However, if you’d like to work with the numbers in your income or expense report then you may find the new Excel format better suited to your needs.
Other Changes
We’ve also fixed a number of minor issues and adjusted page layouts to provide better formatting in some situations. Additionally, we made some changes to our email infrastructure for members who use Yahoo.com email addresses. Yahoo recently changed their email policy that would cause prevent some emails from being delivered (if your account was affected, we’ve notified you by email).
Is there a way for attendance to be shown on the calendar? It would be great to see at a glance, what lessons were attended, canceled, missed. Perhaps just those three categories? I like the way it shows on the home screen in my account after I’ve reconciled some lessons – or a lesson that day is canceled… I can see that at a glance. It would be very helpful to be able to do the same on the monthly view of the full calendar. Thanks for all you do!
Hi Kristin! As part of today’s update the calendar now puts a line through the event name if all the attendees are absent for any reason. Hopefully this will provide the visual cue you’re looking for so you can see which students are coming and which ones aren’t at-a-glance.
